This was for a family in Heaton that wanted more living space with an open plan feel along with an extra bedroom and en-suite upstairs.
To achieve this, a 12 metre gable wall on the existing garage needed underpinning to take the weight of the new first floor. It was then extended to create a new integral garage at the front, with utility and kitchen at the rear, whilst the rest of the garage was demolished.
The property previously had 2 separate rear extensions which needed demolishing in order to achieve the open plan feel the customer was looking for. Two sets of bi-folding doors and roof lights were installed to provide plenty of natural light. Downstairs was remodelled by removing the appropriate walls to achieve the optimum result.
The whole house was finished with a new modern coloured render.
